John R. Daggett, 70, Oshkosh, passed away March 23, 2013, at Aurora Medical Center, Oshkosh, surrounded by his family. John was born on September 15, 1942, in Oshkosh, the son of the late Irving and Helen (Hackney) Daggett. John's life took him on travels around the world. In the late 1960's he met his wife Anita Emma and after falling in love, Anita and John got married in June 1973, in Germany. Being in Germany John studied Biology at the University of Freiburg and Erlangen, Germany. In January 1979, his daughter Sarah was born. John lived with his family several years in Germany before he went back to the United States after his retirement.
Having not had an easy start in his life, John Richard Daggett was a very generous person and had his heart in the right place by helping and caring for other's in ways most would not have realized and seen.
John is survived by his daughter, Sarah, Anita; his sister, Joanne; and numerous nieces and nephews.
John's daughter and wife send very special thanks to the staff at the ICU at Aurora Medical Center, Oshkosh (especially to Audrey, David, Sherry and Kristy and Dr Reiser) for all the loving care John received.
Visitation for John will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2013, at Noon at Fox Cities Funeral & Cremation Services, 3026 Jackson St, Oshkosh, until the memorial service at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Barry Yarbre officiating. Inurnment at Rushford cemetery with full military honors will follow the service.
