Joseph C. Andrews, age 88, of New Holstein formerly of Redgranite died Thursday, November 22, 2012 at the Willowdale Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in New Holstein.
He was born August 28, 1924 in Maple Grove in Shawano County, Wisconsin to the late Joseph & Clara (Bunkleman) Andrews.
On April 10, 1948, he married Louise Vannieuwenhoven at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Duck Creek near Howard. Louise preceded him in death on May 27, 2005.
Joseph served in the Army. He was a World War II veteran and proud of it. He was a member of St. Marks Catholic Church in Redgranite.
Joseph was a farmer, carpenter, and a truck driver. He enjoyed helping people, cutting grass, and doing odd jobs for others.
Survivors include his children, John Andrews and his special friend, Roseann of Green Bay, Christine Lessmiller of Redgranite, Linda (William) Jetton of Maribel, Fern (Russ) Laes of Suamico, Rose (Lyle) Shinnaberry of Oconto Falls, Mary Koslowski of New Holstein, Joseph Jr. Andrews of Redgranite, David (Joni) Andrews of Green Bay, Brenda (Steve) Schuch of Cecil, Roger (Jackie) Andrews of Green Bay, and Pam (Jeff) Wiese of Redgranite; he is also survived by 32 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Gene (Mary) Vannieuwenhoven; two sisters-in-law, Genevieve Andrews and Marion (Merlin) Krautkramer both of Green Bay; many nieces; nephews; other relatives; and many friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife; an infant daughter, Theresa; a daughter-in-law, Sarah Andrews; a son-in-law, Richard Koslowski; four brothers; and three sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday, November 26, 2012 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church 1724 Madison Street in New Holstein. Rev. Harold Berryman will officiate with Deacon, Pat Knier assisting.
Military Rites conducted by the New Holstein American Legion Post 124 will take place at the church following the services.
Entombment will take place at the Allouez Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum in Green Bay on Tuesday morning, November 27th at 10:30 AM.
Family and friends may call at the church on Monday from 3:00 PM until the time of services.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff nurses, nurses' aids, the doctors at Willowdale Nursing Home and the Heartland Hospice caregivers for all the special care they gave him in the last months of his life.
