Furniss, Judith Ann (Imrie)
Judith Ann (Imrie) Furniss, dear wife of W. Richard Furniss, passed away on March 8, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh. She was born on June 26, 1937, in Washington D.C. and was the daughter of the late Albert E. and Clara Belle (Wilford) Imrie. Judy married Richard Furniss on September 19, 1959, at Westport Presbyterian Church in Kansas City Missouri, where they met singing in the church choir.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Richard; two children, James of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and Jonathan (Kristin) of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; two grandchildren, Ian and Lana; her brother, James (Marcia) of St. Louis, Missouri; and many other dear relatives and friends.
Judy was a great lover of music and an avid reader. She was active in her local P. E. O. chapter in Oshkosh, Wisconsin and the Milwaukee North Shore area. She enjoyed writing short articles and essays based on her life and memories and loved her P. E. O. writing group. Judy wishes to thank all the many people who have been so kind and supportive during her recent struggle. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends who will always remember her as the most loving, caring and unselfish soul.
A Memorial Service will be held at the First Congregational Church 137 Algoma Boulevard, Oshkosh, WI 54901 at 12:30 p.m. on April 19, 2014. Visitation will be held at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the service. Private interment will be at a later date at in the Milwaukee area. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the Oshkosh Public Library 106 Washington Avenue, Oshkosh, WI 54901, to the Day by Day Warming Shelter 449 High Avenue, Oshkosh, WI 54901 or to the Michael D. Wachtel Cancer Center 2700 W. 9th Ave., Suite 11, Oshkosh, WI 54904.
