Robert Edward Vetrone, age 81 of rural Pine River passed away peacefully Friday evening, November 16, 2012 at his home in the Town of Leon, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born June 8, 1931 in the Town of Leon, Waushara County, a son of Mike and Viola (Ashley) Vetrone.
He had been married to Donna Roberts, who he married on September 23, 1950 in Redgranite. Robert married Catherine Jean Pick January 31, 1970 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Redgranite.
Bob had been employed as a foundry worker at the Berlin Foundry from the late 1960's until he retired in 1996. He had also owned and operated Bob's Bar in Redgranite from 1967 to 1971.
Mr. Vetrone was a resident of the Town of Leon area in Waushara County for most of his life. He enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing and gardening. He was a very outgoing person, who enjoyed meeting and getting to know people. Most of all, he loved his family, and they loved him. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Auroraville.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Cathy, a resident of the Omro Care Center; his sons and daughters, Richard Vetrone of Antigo, Robert D. (Bonnie) Vetrone of Berlin, Bernie (Sheila) Vetrone of Sherwood, Steven Vetrone of Pine River, Clara (the Late Ken) Losey of Wautoma, Jan (Tom) Chamberlin of Redgranite, and Heather (Ryan) Dedert of West Bend; 17 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Bob is also survived by his brothers and sisters, William (the Late Vivian) Vetrone of Alma Center, Eugene (Mary) Vetrone of Tennessee, Louis (Irene) and Michael (Sue) Vetrone, both of Wisconsin Rapids, Floyd Vetrone of Texas, Betty (Kenneth) Rogers of Oshkosh, Gloria (the Late Merlin) Rogers and Dorothy (Lyle) Schrank, both of Berlin, Donna (Russell) Krebs of Colorado, Virginia (the Late Louis) Schmude and Diane (William) Hadel, both of Ripon. Bob is also survived by a brother-in-law, Donnie Pick of Pennsylvania, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, his first wife, Donna Vetrone of Redgranite, other relatives, and many good friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Viola Vetrone, a granddaughter, Carrie Schroeder, 2 brothers, Adolph "Mike" and Dominick "Chuck" Vetrone, and, a sister, Ethelyne Fink, 2 brothers-in-law, Merlin Rogers and Louis Schmude, 5 sisters-in-law, Agnes and Vivian Vetrone, Lorraine Meyer, Helen Pick, and Eleanor Christensen, and a son-in-law, Ken Losey.
FUNERAL SERVICES for Robert Edward Vetrone will be held Wednesday, November 21st. at 11:00 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church N2506 State Road 49 in Auroraville. The Rev. Brian M. Beardsley, Pastor will officiate. Following these Services, Bob will be laid to rest in the Shead Island Cemetery, Town of Aurora.
VISITATION: Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Ruminski Funeral Home in Redgranite, and then at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Auroraville from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Wednesday prior to the time of Services.
