Robert Strehlow Obituary

Robert Harvey Strehlow, died on March 6, 2012 following a short illness. He was born on September 5, 1920 in Milwaukee to George O. and Norma L. Strehlow. He married Bettye Fishburn on December 9, 1961. She preceded him in death on May 10, 2003.

He graduated from Rufus King High School. Robert served in the Army Air corps and was stationed in Deopham Green, England from March to November of 1944. He flew 27 missions as a Ball Turret Gunner on a B-17 with the 8th Air Force; 452 Bomb Group. He loved to sing and was a member of the Milwaukee Choristers for over 20 years until moving to Oshkosh in 1968. Robert loved flying and was a long time volunteer for EAA.

Survivors include his children Kim (David) Clabots, Scott Strehlow and grandchildren Ryan & Jared Clabots and Cole, Ella & Annika Grundeen-Strehlow. He was also preceded in death by his parents and Brother Roland.

Funeral services for Robert will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home (Eastside - 402 Waugoo Ave) with the Rev. Ralph DiBiasio-Snyder officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the service time. Interment will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
