Raimann, Robert

Robert H. Raimann passed away unexpectedly in his home on January 20, 2014. Bob was born in Fond du Lac on June 12, 1927 to Harold and Olive (Friedel) Raimann. He graduated from Waupaca High School and served in the US Navy. He was married on March 1, 1947, to Ramona Thompson in Scandinavia, Wisconsin, then graduated from Oshkosh Business College in 1948. He had worked at Oshkosh Auto Parts from about 1950 to 1955 and then Clark & Lund Boat Company from 1955 to 1963. He then went to Clifton Gunderson & Company and was the Data Manager, retiring in 1988.

Bob enjoyed fixing anything that was broken; if it couldn't be fixed he'd take it apart to see if it could still be fixed. He started programming computers in the 1960's. He loved camping, photography and woodworking. Above all else, he loved helping others. He volunteered at EAA for over 25 years, he worked at the Lutheran Food Pantry, he was an active member and volunteer at First English Lutheran Church, and he taught computer class at the Oshkosh Senior Center. He was short two pints of being a 26 gallon blood donor.

He is survived by his wife, Mona of 66 years. Also, 4 daughters, Linda (Roger) Foust of Omro, Nancy (Craig) Ruddy of Redgranite, Sharon (Ken) Ziebert of Omro, and Joanne Raimann (Rick Hoeft) of Oshkosh. Grandchildren: Jason Foust of Omro, Chad (Shannon) Foust of Omro; Bronson Foust of Mishicot, Ryan (Jessica) Ruddy of Oshkosh; Leigh (Bjorn) Myhre of Tacoma, WA; David (Lynda) Gruen of Aldie, VA; Rob (Sarah) Gruen, Milwaukee; Lori, Jacci and Nick Ziebert, all of Madison; Whitney Hoeft of Oshkosh; Casey Hoeft of Stevens Point. Great-grandchildren are Riley and Landon Foust of Omro, Ruby Gruen of Milwaukee, Hans Myhre of Tacoma, Washington, and Number 5 due in February in Virginia. Also survived by his sister Melodeen Matheson of Waupaca, and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Norman Matheson.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, January 24, 2014, at First English Lutheran Church, 1013 Minnesota St., from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 with Rev. Timothy Greenwald, and Rev. Marty Ruge officiating. Bob will be laid to rest at Lake View Memorial Park. To share on online condolence or memory with the family, go to www.seefeldfuneral.com
