Dorothy Agnes Kamps, age 84, passed away Thursday February 20, 2014 at her home. She was surrounded by her loving and supportive family. Dorothy was born on March 29, 1929, the daughter of Walter and Agnes Malinowski Fiss in Marinett Wisconsin.
She grew up in Marinett, graduating with the class of 1947. After graduation she was employed at; Marinett Knitting Mills, and the Borael Glove Company of Marinett
In 1949 she met her husband Louis A. Kemps, at the Equity Park Dance Hall on HY #64 in the township of Pound. On June 13, 1953 they were united in marriage at the First Trinity Lutheran Church of Marinett. She continued to work at the knitting mills until 1956; when she became a full time stay at home wife and mother. Dorothy and Louis were blessed with 5 children; daughter, Karen, 4 sons Keith, Kent and, twins Kory and Kurt,(who passed away at birth).
Dorothy and Louis celebrated 60 years of marriage in June of 2013.
She is survived by: her husband, Louis, and daughter, Karen, sons, Keith, Kent and Kory, 2 grandchildren, Sherry, Michael, 3 great grandsons, Adian, Merick, and Brody, brother, Harold Fiss, brother in laws, Raymond, Leland, Gerald, Roland, and Hilbert Kamps, along with their families. She is further survived by sister in laws Elsie (Hugo) Sandelin, Ruth List, Rita (Eddie) Van Slietredt, Lorrine Kamps, Sharon Kamps, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by; son Kurt, her parents, a brother Edward , sister Arlene (John) Hatwig Jr., brother in law Harold T. Kamps, Verlin Kamps, Harvey Kamps, and Richard List. sister in laws; Beverly Kamps, Marlean Kamps, Irene Kamps Huettner.
Funeral services will be held at St. John Lutheran Church of Berlin on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. The Pastor Bryan Lundquist will be officiating. Burial will be held in Forest Home cemetery of Marinett at a later date.
Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday February 25, 2014 from 9:00 until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church.
