Lautenschlager, Elizabeth Rose "Elsie'

Elizabeth Rose "Elsie" Lautenschlager, age 90, of Oshkosh passed into the arms of Jesus surrounded by family on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Eastbrook Manor in Oshkosh. Elsie was born on September 23, 1923 in Oshkosh, the daughter of Ludwig and Pauline Beresowka Heisler. She attended Oshkosh High School. Elsie married Alex Lautenschlager on May 8, 1940 in Oshkosh. He preceded her in death in 1977. Elsie was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and enjoyed sewing, painting, collecting antiques, and dressing beautifully. She also enjoyed watching NASCAR races on TV.

Elsie is survived by and her memory will be cherished by her children, Judith (Rodney) Ziegenhagen of Endicott, New York and James Lautenschlager of Forest Lake, Minnesota; grandchildren, Scott (Melinda) Ziegenhagen of Bedford, New Hampshire, Randy (fiancee' Allison) Ziegenhagen of Elmira, New York, Brett (fiancee' Tonya) Ziegenhagen of East Greenbush, New York, Bart (Kenya) Ziegenhagen of Gilroy, California, Tammera Ziegenhagen of Johnson City, New York, Traci Ziegenhagen of Endicott, New York; several great-grandchildren; and a brother, Tom (Shirley) Heisler of Oshkosh. Elsie had many nieces, nephews, especially Edward (Betty) Kaltenbach and Edward (Karen) Heisler Jr. She was preceded in death by her husband Alex; sisters, Helen Gustavus and Lucille Water and a brother Edward.

Funeral services for Elsie will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 12 noon in the Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Dr. in Oshkosh. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of floral expressions, memorials may be directed to Christ Child Society of Oshkosh. The family wishes to thank Eastbrook Manor for their loving care of Elsie, especially Heather and her staff, Generations Home Care and Hospice, and all others that cared for her. A special thank you also to Tom and Shirley Heisler.
