Hieland, (Ralph) Clifford James
Clifford James (Ralph) Hieland, age 60, a lifelong resident of Berlin, died unexpectedly on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at the Theda-Clark Medical Center of Neenah, where he had been a patient for the past week.
He was born on November 4, 1953 in Berlin, the son of Clifford and Jacqueline (Rehbein) Hieland.
He is a graduate of Berlin High School. After high school he served three years in the military. He then went on to pursue and complete his certification as a Master Electrician.
Ralph's favorite past time was enjoying a beautiful day in the sun while fishing with his best friends. He was a devoted packer fan who spent hours playing cards with good friends; cribbage being his favorite. He was a dog lover; He was a reliable friend; He was a true, genuine soul who always had a way of lighting up a room with his smile. Ralph will be remembered as a sincere, charismatic, and generous man who loved the simple things in life and held his friends dear.
Ralph is survived by his three best friends, Wayne Hobbs, Barb Hobbs, and Shannon Hobbs, whom he thought of as family. Ralph is preceded in death by his mother and father. He will also be missed by many loving friends.
A Memorial visitation for all friends will be held at the Wiecki-Skipchak Funeral Home of downtown Berlin on Sunday, July 20, 2014 from 10:00am-12:00pm., and there will be no formal service per his wishes.
Following the visitation will be a celebration of Ralph's life at his favorite bar, City Inn, in Berlin, starting at 12:00pm., and all are welcome.
