He enjoyed hunting and fishing and for many years had spent summer vacations with his family fishing in Minnesota. Don especially loved his land and the home he built there in 1989; planting all of the trees, making trails for his grandkids to ride 4-wheelers on, and spending most days taking care of his land, the yard, and the kennel. He truly loved spending time with his grandchildren.
