Wilma Bauer, a 98-year-old phenomenal woman, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, August 12th. Wilma was born October 1, 1915 in Meadville, Pennsylvania, the oldest of Florenz and Annette (Ferguson) Rehm's three children.She was united in marriage with Charles Bauer, IV on September 18, 1940 and worked with children for many years at Winnebago Mental Health Institute. In addition to being an incredible mother, grandmother, and "Granny-the-Great", Wilma volunteered in innumerable ways throughout her life to serve the Oshkosh community.
She is remembered by her friends and family for her unconditional love, radiant smile, gentle spirit, strong faith, love of reading and travel, incredible memory, wisdom, and wit.
Wilma is survived by her children, Charles (Dorothy) Bauer,V, Bruce (Cathy) Bauer, and Linda Leonhart; grandchildren, Charlie (Kelly) Bauer, Jonathan (Emily) Kent, Darrin (Gina) Leonhart, Carolyn (Matt) Stegmann, Erik Leonhart, and Abby Leonhart; and great-grandchildren, Alexander Kent, Olivia Leonhart, and Emmitt, Camille, and Elijah Stegmann,
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Bauer, IV; brother, Richard Rehm; sister, Margaret Schuster; granddaughter, Alyssa Leonhart; and great grandchildren, Will and Ellie Kent.
Please join us for a visitation from 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, at the the First Presbyterian Church, 110 Church Avenue, until the time of the Celebration of Life service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made in Wilma's name to a
