Peters, Florence Leone

Florence Leone Peters, 95, formerly of Fond du Lac, passed away at the American House in Berlin WI on Sunday, July 8, 2012.

Florence was born in the town of Leon, Waushara County, on February 19, 1917, a daughter of Herman and Hedwig (Tornow) Timm.

She attended Cedar Valley School, German Lutheran School in Auroraville, WI and other rural schools.

On May 27, 1933 she married Glen Wilcox who preceded her in death. Five children survive: Kathleen (Hyman) Lawent of Berlin, Lloyd (Carol) Wilcox of West Chester OH, Dianne Taylor of Grafton, Barbara (Bruce) Ristow of Hales Corners and Sharon Fuchs of West Bend.

On May 8, 1954 Florence married Ralph Peters Sr. at the Church of Peace, Fond du Lac, who also preceded her in death. Surviving is one son, Ralph Peters Jr. of Milwaukee.

Mrs. Peters is also survived by 9 grandsons, 7 granddaughters, several great grandchildren, one brother-in-law Ralph (Olive) Fischer and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her parents, husbands, one daughter Glenn Mae Wilcox, grandson Brian Lawent, sons-in-law Erv Fuchs and Roy Gill, 3 sisters and their husbands, Selma (Lawrence) Krause, Sylvia (Clarence) Hoffman, Jeanette Fischer, and one brother Edward Timm.

Florence enjoyed playing cards with her children and grandchildren, reading books and newspapers and doing word puzzles.

Visitation: Florence's family will receive relatives and friends at the Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division St., Fond du Lac, on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. There is also visitation at the Church of Peace, 158 S. Military Road, Fond du Lac on Wednesday morning, from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Services: Funeral Services will be held at the Church of Peace on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the Rosendale Cemetery, Rosendale.
