Donald Raymond "Gorilla" Schraven, 46, Redgranite, formerly of Milwaukee, passed away Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 18, 2012, as the result of an auto accident in the Village of Redgranite.
He was born In Milwaukee, Feb. 17, 1966, a son of Paul and Nancy (Martin) Schraven. Don was raised in Milwaukee, and had lived in Redgranite since 1982. He had been married to Lyne (Smith) Shaffer.
Don had been employed for a time at the Berlin Foundry. He and his wife, Lyne had owned and operated Sportsman's Bar in Redgranite. He also owned and operated Gorilla's Bar in Redgranite. Don had been employed at the Home Bar in Lohrville, and was presently employed at Cheapskates Bar & Grill in Wautoma.
Gorilla was a BIG MAN with a BIG HEART.
Survivors include his daughter, Chelsea Lyne Schraven, Omro; his sisters and brothers, Paul (Carol) Schraven, Deb (Warren) Waala, and Chris Jacob, all of Redgranite; Pam (Richard) Moloney, New London; Melvin Schraven, Gary, Ind.; Catherine (Charles) Aden, Chicago, Ill.; Michael Schraven, Milwaukee; and John (Angie) Schraven, Anacoco, La. Don is also survived by nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, other relatives, and many, many, many good friends.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Bruce Schraven.
A CELEBRATION OF DON'S LIFE will be held Sunday, Sept. 23, beginning at 1 p.m.. at Cheapskates Bar & Grill, W7871 State Road 21 & 73 in Wautoma.
Memorials will be greatly appreciated in place of flowers.
