Andrew "Andy" Simon Bralich, 86, of Oshkosh, passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at Eden Meadows. He was born on Christmas Day 1925, in Waukesha, to parents Appalonia and Simon Bralich. Andrew was the second of ten children. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and served 14 months overseas in the South Pacific. He married the former Virginia Peplinski on July 15, 1950, in Milwaukee. Andy moved to Oshkosh and worked for Rockwell Int. as a buyer in the purchasing dept. and then worked for and retired from Neenah Foundry as an industrial salesman. Andy loved his grandchildren and enjoyed golf, traveling and card playing along with woodworking as he made toys and furniture for his kids.
He is survived by and his memory will be cherished by his wife Virginia of 62 years; four sons, David (special friend Dee) of IL; Philip of California; Michael (Cheryl) of AZ; and Paul (Dorothy) of Sheboygan, WI; two daughters, Susan Bralich of IL; and Mary Beth (Patrick) Connors of Oshkosh; two brothers, Frederick (Irene) of Waukesha; and Donald (Rose) of Nekoosa, WI; three sisters, Florence Shertzer, Josephine Diekfuss and Pauline Lapp all of Waukesha, WI. He is further survived by ten grandchildren, other relatives and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Matthew and Thomas; two sisters, Elizabeth and Juanita; two grandchildren, Mark Bralich and Heidi Tomasko.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Andrew on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at noon in St. Raphael Catholic Church, 830 S. Westhaven Dr. in Oshkosh. The Rev. Fr. Luke Ferris will celebrate the Mass. Entombment with full military honors will follow the Mass at Lake View Memorial Park. A time of visitation and support will be held for the family on Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. A memorial fund will be established.
The family would like to thank Aurora Hospital, Eden Meadows, and Generations Hospice for the wonderful, compassionate care that was extended to Andy and the family during his illness.
