Peggy Lee Wismer

Peggy Lee Wismer passed away on Friday, December 28, 2012, at her rural Neenah home from cancer, with her caregivers, her husband and mom by her side. Peggy went to her Lord and Savior and to see her dad again.

Peggy was born in Neenah to to Jerry and Leiann (Evenson) Christianson on August 18, 1959. She grew up near Allenville and attended Winneconne schools. Peggy was a graduate of Winneconne High School and the McConnell Travel School in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She worked in the travel business for many years and then in inside sales.

On September 11, 1982, Peggy married Gary "Wiz" Wismer and they lived in the Neenah area for 30 years.

Peggy liked to plant flowers in spring and take care of them. She also loved working on her computer, boating, snowmobiling, listening to country music, watching the Packers and Brewers, and spending time with her friends. She had a quick wit and loved to joke and laugh.

Peggy loved to travel and had gone many places, but her favorite was always Treasure Island in Florida.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Gary; her mom, Leiann Christianson, of Winneconne; two aunts, Lorraine Christianson, of Winneconne; and Lois Kittleson, of Cambridge, Wisconsin; one uncle, Ron Evenson, of Waupaca; many cousins; and her little Yorkie, Abby. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, Nancy Beyer, and Bill and Sharon Wismer, all of Winneconne.

Also surviving her are a lot of life time friends. Many thanks to Barb Beiser, her best friend since 4th grade, for all of her visits, leg rubs, and treats. Thanks also to Diane, Jodi, Jane, and Donna for their support and all the others who called and sent cards. Thanks to all the neighbors who brought food and to Joe Zimba for plowing snow.

Peggy's family also wishes to thank the Fox Valley Oncology doctors and staff and the staffs at Cherry Meadows and ThedaCare at Home. We don't know what we would have done without you; Tracey, Claudia, and Mary, you are the best! Thanks to all the rest too! A great big hug to Aunt Lorraine for helping out nights so Peggy's mom could rest.

Peggy was preceded in death by her dad, Jerry Christianson; grandparents, Orville and Laurena Evenson, and Arlen and Elyda Christianson; two uncles, Bob Kittleson and Arden Christianson; and three cousins, Diane Schultz, Steve Kittleson, and Randy Evenson.

A visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at Mueller Funeral Home, 904 E. Main St. Winneconne from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Dan Luett of Grace Lutheran Church, Winchester officiating. Inurnment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Neenah.
