Margaret Joan (Lehman) Jodarksi

Margaret Joan (Lehman) Jodarski, age 92, of Berlin, died peacefully with her family beside her on Friday afternoon February 8, 2013, at the Patriot Place of Berlin.

She was born on January 6, 1921 in the Town of Aurora, Waushara County, the daughter of Joseph and Helen (Fralish) Lehman.

She attended the country school of Shead Street on Hwy 21 North of Berlin and also Saint Stanislaus Grade School in Berlin and graduated from the Berlin High School with the class of 1938, as Valedictorian. She then attended the University of Wisconsin Whitewater receiving a Bachelor's Degree, in 1942 and later after several summers she earned her Master's Degree in 1970, both in Business Education.

Margaret married the love of her life, Gordon (Jake) Jodarski on December 27, 1945 at Saint Stanislaus Catholic Church of Berlin. Both Margaret and Jake attended Saint Stanislaus Grade School and the Berlin High School.

Margaret taught Business education in Stevens Point (D.J. Jacobs), also in Waukesha and at the Berlin High School, for a total of twenty seven years, retiring in 1983. She had been associated with the Wisconsin Business Education Association, Pi Omega Pi an honorary Business Fraternity in Whitewater, Berlin Alumni Association as a life member, and a charter member of the Beta Theta Chapter of Delta Pi Epsilon, an Honorary Business Fraternity, also a life member of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), she is also a member of the All Saints Catholic Parish of Berlin and the Ladies Sodality (CCW) of the Parish.

Margaret enjoyed doing Lapidary work, sawing, grinding and polishing stones, she also enjoyed crocheting, gardening, traveling and biking. She really enjoyed her summer home on Little Silver Lake for many years and especially using her Paddle Boat as long as she could. She has lived at the Patriot Place of Berlin since May of 2010, up until the time of her death.

Many former students had stopped in to see her and to thank her for the subjects she had taught them and they still use them today.

She is survived by her beloved husband Gordon (Jake), her children, Jim (Ruth) Jodarski of Berlin, Tom (Mary) Jodarski of Mauston, Wis., and Joel (Debbie) Jodarski of Wautoma, her sister, Josephine Harris of Madison and also her six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, nieces, Jean (Harris) Clark, Elizabeth (Harris) Winters, other relatives and friends.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Walter (Julie) Lehman and Edward (Margaret) Lehman, her sister, Isabelle (John) Pick, brothers and sisters in law, Phil Harris, Edward (Sut) (Jane) Jodarski , Mary Ann (Phil) Grundy and Delores (Bob) Neuberger.

Funeral services with a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday February 12, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the All Saints Catholic Church (Hwy 49 South of Berlin) with the Rev. Jerome Maksvytis officiating and burial will follow in the Saint Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery of Berlin.

A luncheon will immediately follow the services at the cemetery and will be held at the Berlin V.F.W. Hall and all are invited.

Relatives and friends may visit and pay their respects to the family on Tuesday February 12, 2013 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. only, at the Wiecki-Skipchak Funeral Home of downtown Berlin.

A memorial has been established in Margaret's memory.

The family would like to thank the entire staff of the Patriot Place of Berlin for taking such good care of Margaret and to the Agnesian Hospice Hope for all of their help.
