Catherine Jane Hopperdietzel, 77, of Berlin, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday evening April 28, 2013, at the Berlin Memorial Hospital.
She was born on April 13, 1936, in Berlin, the daughter of Edward and Margaret (Gurkowski) Boening.
She had worked as an Inspector for the Mc Gregor-Sand Knit Corp. of Berlin for 28 years and retired from Ripon Jacket. Catherine also sold Avon products for 35 years.
She was a member of the Saint Stanislaus Catholic Church of Berlin and the Ladies Sodality of the Parish and would help out at many Parish functions with her mother Margaret.
She enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, and was a very compassionate dog lover.
Survivors include her daughter, Debbie Rew of Butte Des Morts and her son, Dennis Hopperdietzel of Berlin; her brother, Richard (Connie) Boening of Berlin; and her six grandchildren, Kimberly (Lewis) Nelson of Fond du Lac; Kevin (Nikki) Boening of Berlin; Eric Rew of Fort Walten Beach, Florida (U.S. Air Force); Robert Rew of Butte Des Morts; Rebecca Hopperdietzel of Berlin; and Ashlee Hopperdietzel of Winneconne. She is further survived by her four great-grandchildren, Trevor, Jordan, Tucker and Jayden Boening; and her daughter in law, Rhonda Boening of Berlin.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Boening and Margaret Boening-Wallenhorst; three brothers, David, Carl and James Boening; one sister, Betty Schoonover; her son, Rickey Boening; her great-grandson, Blair Boening; and also by a very special friend; Johnnie Nighbor.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday (TODAY) May 2, 2013, at 11a.m. at the Wiecki-Skipchak Funeral Home of downtown Berlin, with the Rev. Jerome Maksvytis officiating and burial will follow in the Saint Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery of Berlin.
Relatives and friends may visit and pay their respects to Catherine and her family on Thursday (TODAY) prior to the services at the Funeral Home from 9:30 to 11 a.m.
