Floyd John Schlosser, age 72, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at his home with his family at his side.
Floyd was born on February 3, 1941 in Oconto Falls, Wisconsin, son of the late Gerald and Olive (Mc Dougal) Schlosser. Following his education Floyd served his country in the US Navy. He retired from Kraft manufacturing after several years of service. Floyd enjoyed playing football in High School and had a passion for motorcycles. He was a member of the DC Eagles and Aces motorcycle clubs. He also enjoyed hunting, traveling with his father-in-law and spending time as a cowboy in Arizona with his brother-in-law Joe.
Floyd is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Kathy and his four children, Wendy (Dave) Meinhardt, Appleton; Scott (Amy) Samp, New London; Joe (Karen) Summerville, Oshkosh; and Terry Summerville, Omro; two step-children, Diane (Brian) Fleming, Appleton; and John (Ariel) Stilp, Appleton; 20 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, a sister, Judy (Al) Opperman, and a brother, Dale Schlosser both of Redgranite; his mother-in-law, Shirley Raatz and by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Floyd was also preceded in death by his daughter Debbie Deetz, a granddaughter, Krystal Schlosser, two brothers, Richard and Jerome, a sister, Renne Dixon, father-in-law, Orlin Raatz and his ex-wife, Nancy Schlosser.
A memorial service will be held 4:00 PM Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Valley Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Berndt officiating. Full Military Honors will follow the service. Floyd's family will receive family and friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established in Floyd's name.
