Larry J. Fleming, 84, passed away on Sept. 7, 2013, at Lifestream Nursing Home, surrounded by his family. He was born Aug. 27, 1929, in Minneapolis, Minn., to the late Clarence and Dorothy (McDonough) Fleming. Larry was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Green Bay and St. Norbert College, De Pere. He served as an Officer in the U.S. Army, during the Korean War. On June 19, 1954, he married the love of his life, Audrey Saindon. They raised their three children in Green Bay and De Pere. Larry worked in the Paper Industry as a Sales and Marketing Executive with Fort Howard in Green Bay and Hoffmaster/Scott in Oshkosh. A devote Catholic and volunteer, Larry was dedicated to the Catholic church. He assumed many leadership roles for each church he attended, and was often at the Lectern with his strong articulate voice. He was the Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus Abbot Pennings Council 3955, from 1977-1978. After retiring to Sun City West Arizona, in 1994, Larry worked as a volunteer for the Sun City West Posse, he continued to Lector at Mass, enjoyed playing golf, bridge, and watching Packer football games, while on Amigo Drive and his residency at Heritage Tradition. But most of all, he enjoyed being with his family.
He is survived by his wife and best friend, Audrey Fleming; one sister, Celine Anderson, De Pere, Wis.; one daughter Cindy Augustson, Gilbert, Ariz.; two sons, Tim (Pam) Fleming, San Diego, Calif.; Brian Fleming, Mesa, Ariz.; five Grandchildren, Brittany, Kaitlyn, Lindsay, Meghan and Zachary; plus many nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Jerome Fleming; two sisters, Marifran Vander Zanden, Elisabeth Browne; three brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law.
Larry was a wonderful husband, an understanding father, a loving grandfather, and a great friend.
In respecting Larry's wishes, a celebration of his life will take place during the Thanksgiving holiday.
