Sr. Gall, R. Ronald

Ronald Richard Gall Sr. age 81, of Oshkosh died September 23, 2013, at home with his family by his side. Ron was born March 6, 1932, in Bronx, N.Y. He attended Evander Childs High School, and joined the Air Force in 1949. He played professional baseball for the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1953. He worked at the 1st National Bank in Lake Geneva, Western State Bank in Oshkosh, and retired as manager of consumer credit counseling services (family service) in Milwaukee in 1997. Ron enjoyed golfing and his favorite team was the Chicago Bears.

Ron is survived by his wife Janice Gall of Oshkosh, his daughters: Deborah Gall of Lake Geneva, Michele Schroeder of Oshkosh, his son, Ronald Gall Jr. of Whitewater, sister, Michele (Kenneth) Knight of Austin Texas, her children; Joseph (Daniella) Knight, Steven (Lisa) Knight, and Kim Knight Shields. Step children; Sandra, David (Niki), and Larry Suess, grandchildren; Steven (Jennifer) Schroeder, Jason (Shannon) Schroeder, and Kayla Gall. His great grandchildren; Jered Friday, Kalen, Jordan, and Calie Schroeder. Ron is further survived by many step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Edna Gall, two brothers; Kenneth Gall, and 2nd Lieutenant Robert Gall U.S.M.C. The mother of his children Annette Gall Fermano.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Zornosa, Stephanie, Dr. Brescia, and LaDonna for providing care and comfort during this difficult time.

A celebration of Ron's life will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2013, at Fox Cities Funeral & Cremation Services, 3026 Jackson St. Oshkosh, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Oshkosh Area Humane Society in Ron's memory.
