Boyce, Elizabeth

Elizabeth H. "Liz" Boyce, age 93, of Oshkosh, died Thursday morning, January 2, 2014, at Bethel Home. Born on September 19, 1920, in De Pere, Wisconsin, the daughter of John and Mary (Whisdosh) Kosup, Liz married Joseph Boyce on September 11, 1948, at St. Josaphat Catholic Church in Oshkosh.

A life-long member of St. Josaphat Catholic Church, Liz enjoyed her time making pies, being in the neighborhood card games, and later playing bingo. Raising her children and the time spent with grandchildren brought much happiness and fulfillment to Liz.

Left to mourn her passing is a son, Thomas (Gwen) Boyce of Wisconsin Rapids; a daughter, Julie (Phillip) Poklasny of Oshkosh; five grandchildren, Katie (Jason) Selby of St. Louis Park , Minnesota, Nicholas (Sara) Boyce of Wisconsin Rapids, Melissa (Martin) Lisney of Oshkosh, Brad Poklasny of Oshkosh, and Aaron Poklasny of Oshkosh; four great-grandchildren, Kailey, Logan, Miles, and Nolan; a sister, Marcella (Raymond) Bernier of Oshkosh; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Liz in death is her husband, parents, brothers, and sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 6, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. in St. Josaphat Catholic Church, 1333 Walnut Street, with Reverend William Van De Kreeke officiating. Interment will take place in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will take place on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the church.
