Sharon Lenz Obituary

Lenz, Sharon

Sharon Lenz , age 69, of Oshkosh "until we meet again..." (this is the inscription Sharon put on a ring when her mother died.) That time has come; Sharon is with her Lord and reunited with her mother, father, and many of her relatives and friends. Sharon was welcomed into heaven on February 25, 2017 at Park View Health Center.

Sharon was born November 9, 1947, in Oshkosh, WI to the greatest parents in the world, Raymond A. Lenz and Caroline (Kellerman) Lenz. Sharon attended school in Oshkosh, including Longfellow, St. Mary's, Webster Stanley, and Oshkosh West High School. After graduating from high school in 1965, Sharon attended the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in secondary education with a major in English and a minor in history.

Sharon taught several years at Peshtigo High School and then took a job at Oshkosh Public Library, St. Mary's, Miles Kimball, and 4imprint. Her major interests, outside of work, were traveling, jigsaw puzzles, word puzzles, and reading-especially mysteries. There was nothing she enjoyed more than sharing a nice meal with friends and family. She also loved to talk on the phone for hours.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, and her great friend and sister she never had, Dolores Jakubowski.

Sharon is survived by one uncle, Mike Kellerman. Sharon had a very fortunate life and was surrounded by wonderful family and friends. Recently, Sharon became reunited with some of her second and third cousins-the Muellers-Lorraine, Randy (Rita), Gary (aka "Boomer"), and Debbie (Bruce) McMannes. They shared wonderful times together.

Some of Sharon's special friends she wanted to mention were Gail and Al Beyer, Janet and Steve Wissink, Jo Ann Brewer, Kathy Grace, Diane and Mike Stritzel, Shelia and Roger Neubauer, Becky Srubes and Mike Howerton, Phyllis Janowski, Beth Bush, Karen and Ronnie Johnson, Sue Martin, and her long distance friend in Corvallis, Oregon, Debbie Crowe. Sharon also worked with a great group of ladies at Miles Kimball who continued to get together monthly. In addition, she had some wonderful neighbors.

A memorial service will follow her cremation on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Fiss & Bills Funeral Home at 865 S. Westhaven Drive in Oshkosh. Chaplain Kelly Vidmar will officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. with a short service to follow.

Sharon would also like to thank all the medical people who helped her; especially Dr. Foley, Dr. Klinkhammer, all of the staff at Fox Valley Oncology, and the staff at Affinity Visiting Nurses Hospice program.

In Lieu of flowers, Sharon would like everyone to take time to go to lunch or a movie and have some fun.

Sharon hopes she treated everyone well, fairly, and with respect. She looks forward to seeing everyone again and says "until we meet again" but adds "no hurry on your part.

Missing you.today and forever.

March 4, 2017

Happy trails, dear friend! I hope you have a world of sunshine, health, happiness, and freedom ahead of you! You deserve it! Thank you for the example you set of being a good daughter, coworker, and friend for us. I will miss that big smile and that even bigger laugh, and I will think of you every time I eat Thai food. Love, Becky

To the very end, you made us laugh...
Dinner with the girls won't be the same without you. And yes, indeed, you treated everyone well, fairly, and with respect. I'll miss you.
