Jerry Quirk, 93, of West Vancouver was born to Edward and Sarah (Thorburn) Hardy in New Richmond, Quebec. She is predeceased by 11 siblings. After graduating from high school, she moved to Montreal where she married Thomas A. Quirk in 1943. Following the war, they moved to Calgary and eventually to Vancouver in 1959.
She was fortunate to be able to celebrate 62 years of marriage to the love of her life, Tommy. Her greatest joy was her two children, Edward (Ted) Quirk and Linda Betterton who died in 1981. She was an adoring grandmother to Megan, Kristin and Ashley Quirk and enjoyed traveling the world with them.
She was active in many community organizations including West Vancouver United Church, the WV Senior Center, the WV Lawn Bowling Club and Village Square Dancers for many years. She was a keen bridge player and played several times a week and traveled to tournaments. She was generous of her time and money for those less fortunate and will be deeply missed by her many friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday May 19th at 2 pm at West Vancouver United Church. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes you to make a contribution in Jerry's name to the BC Epilepsy Society, #2500 900 W 8th Ave, Vancouver V521ES
