WOOD, "Jim" James Wason September 25, 1938 - September 23, 2013
. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our loving and devoted Father, Grandpa, brother, uncle and friend to many, two days shy of his 75th Birthday. Jim was an exceptional Dad who shared his love of hockey (Vancouver Canucks), football (49ers), his childhood passion of model trains and sports memorabilia with his sons and a Grandpa who loved to spoil all of his grandchildren when he could. As a very active member of the Ladner community, Jim would be found at McKee House with the "Coffee Club" or outside the local coffee shops on Delta St. chatting and delivering the Delta Optimist newspaper, volunteering for May Days or helping with local garage sales, when he was not busy helping anyone else in need. Jim will forever be remembered for his contagious laugh, smile, silly jokes and always kind word for all. Jim was a fixture of the community, rightfully earning the title "Ambassador of Goodwill for Ladner" who will be missed by many. Jim is survived by his children who he loved unconditionally and was so very proud of; Jason Charles (Kimberley), Corey John (Alyssa), Kyle James (Nicola), "special" children Christopher (Katie) and Marissa (Edward). Jim leaves his adored grandchildren, his "cowgirl who lived in the cowboy boots from Grandpa" London Kae, his "assistant train conductor" and namesake Peyton James and never forgetting his "special granddaughter" Briarly who helped keep him young at heart and on his toes. Jim is also survived by his only brother George (Denise) of Laval, Quebec, many nieces, nephews and extended family who will miss him very much. . We will all miss you Jim but you will forever remain in our hearts.
