Wilson, Michael V.* - Rochester
Unfortunately… it’s time to send flowers. Wilson, Michael V., a.k.a. Robo-Dad for the pacemaker, multiple stents, cages, pins, screws, ports and general rough carpentry he sported…has left the building, April 15, 2016. One of life’s toughest contenders, he wouldn’t stay down: from a heart attack; from coding in a hotel lobby; from coding again on an x-ray machine; from cancer, MRSA nor sepsis. Recently the nursing staff pulled out his ventilator after a frightening two and a half days, he looked around saying, “Huh. I must have been in bad shape if you all are here.” Immediately calling a friend he left the message, “Don’t send flowers! I’m not dead yet.” Employed in engineering, project management, and economic forecasting capacities, he worked at Essex Wire, Circuit Control, Electro Wire, Alcoa Fujikura Ltd., and Pullman Industries. He was a June 7, 1964 graduate of Southfield High School. He spoke conversational Spanish, loved dogs, and had impeccable timing for jokes. If anyone asks, “Dad is on the roof.” The Memorial Service is 11 a.m. May 5, 2016 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Waterford, Interment at Mt. Avon Cemetery, Rochester. Celebration of Life is 4 to 8 p.m. May 4, 2016 at Mr. B’s Rochester. Online guestbook www.modetzfuneralhomes.com
