Cleatus Leon Carie

CARIE, CLEATUS LEON; of Clarkston MI; passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013; at the age of 85. Cleatus was born June 13, 1928, in Vincennes, Indiana, the eldest son of 14 children to the late Bertram and Dorothy Carie. Cleatus served in the Merchant Marines and the United States Navy during W.W.II. He married his true love Dorothy Ann Kubitz in October, 1951. He was a solid provider for his family and retired from Fisher Body Division of General Motors after 44 devoted years. Cleatus was an avid fisherman. Many local bluegills landed on the plate of Cleatus Carie. He was a long time fan of NASCAR, being partial to #24. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Cleatus is survived by his children, Mark (Diane) Carie, Mary Carie, Martin (Katherine) Carie; loving daughter-in-law, Darla Carie; grandchildren, Dana (Mark) Crawford, Carissa (Sam) Howle, Jessica, Jonathan, Alex, Aaron, Sean and Leanne Carie; great grandchild, Kacie Crawford; siblings, Pauline, Kenny, Bertha, Judy, and John; as well as a long list of other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy in 1999 and beloved son, Michael in 2012 as well as his siblings, Paul, Bill, Veta, Gene, Jackie, Faye, Kaye, and Joann. A Graveside Service will be held at the Perry Mount Park Cemetery in Pontiac, MI at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2013. A Memorial Lunch will be served immediately following at the Clarkston Fraternal Order of Eagles Facility at 5640 Maybee Rd. All family and friends are welcome to attend. Arrangements were entrusted to the HURON STREET CHAPEL of Huntoon Funeral Home.
