Robert Lee Dalby

DALBY, ROBERT LEE; passed away on October 4, 2013, surrounded by his family in Grand Rapids, MI. Robert was 89 years old and would have been married to his wife Mildred Dalby 71 years in December of this year. Mildred passed away September 21, 2013. Robert served as a Radio Operator with the 776th Engineers Pipeline Petroleum Distribution Co. serving in Burma for 23 months. He received the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with two Bronze Stars, a good conduct medal and World War II Victory Medal. Robert and Mildred raised 3 children together in the Pontiac, Michigan area: Sandy (Dalby) Rogers (d. 2011), Paula (Dalby) Martin from Highland, and Terre (Dalby) Ritchie from Grand Rapids, MI. The couple had 8 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Robert and Mildred owned Dalby TV on Walton Blvd. Pontiac, MI for many years. Upon selling their business, they moved to Harrisville, MI, where they enjoyed a happy retirement on Lake Huron. Two years ago they moved to Grand Rapids for health reasons. There will be no Funeral Service, but will have a small family get-together to celebrate his life. Prayers would be especially appreciated for the family at this time.
