Pastor Marshall was a true servant of God and a devout teacher and leader. The Trinity MBC Family has truly been blessed to have him lead the church for the past 6 years. He led us, taught us, challenge us all to be better servants for the Lord. He never made anyone feel bad for not knowing more, but always left you wanting to know more. He wanted us to know the Almighty God and worship God as he did. There has never been a stronger, humble and more faithful servant than Pastor Marshall. WE miss him, love him and know he has earned his time of rest. His memory and legacy will continue to challenge the Trinity MBC Family to be better Christians, because that is what God would expect from his children. We miss him dearly, but we praise God for the ministry that he has left Trinity in the capable and dedicated hands of the ministerial staff.May God continue to keep and support all of us, as one day each one will take the journey home.

Drew was a special kind of man that had no fear in showing his love for God. His warm spirit and courageous nature is one that is not easily emulated. I found him to be inspirational, committed, sincere, and caring. All of these attributes made him a man that could be easily loved, admired, and treasured. I loved to hear him teach, preach, and testify about his love for God. His willingness to share himself with others through his cooking, kind words, passion for life, and wonderful smile made him a great person to be around. I had hoped to see him once again at New Faith this past month, yet, he had another appointment. I will always remember his broad and energetic smile, especially as he consistently paused to proclaim "God is Good!"
My prayers of comfort go out to his family, Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, and we at New Faith Church as we continue to press forward. I miss him. He's not gone, just gone on ahead. To God be the Glory!

Drew, as he was affectionately called, was truly a man after God's own heart. Having met him 27 years ago when he first came to New Faith, I owe much of my spiritual growth to his teaching and sermons. Those that knew Drew, know that he was a unique person. He always greeted you with a smile no matter where you were. When I heard of his passing, I was in shock. Wow! All I could think about the previous week was seeing Drew and hearing him bring forth the word in his own way. But God said that would not be the case and called his servant home. I immediately started recalling every memory that I could remember of Drew. I laughed and cried. The difference between these tears and the ones when it was first announced that He was leaving New Faith for Michigan, is that I realized no matter how much I anticipated his visits in June, he was with God now. I will forever miss Drew, but I will be eternally grateful that God allowed our paths to cross and I know that Drew is shouting all over Heaven now!

The memories of Reverend Marshall when he first arrived at New Faith flood my soul. The earnestness, joy and fun he brought to his ministry impacted my life deeply. I will never forget being part of the first Master Life class he had there - and I will always treasure him in my soul. We will miss you truly -your light still shines. Rest peacefully.

Greetings to you all in the blessed name of our saviour, Jesus Christ.

I know that we all have our own personal remembrances of Pastor Marshall. The thing that stands-out most to me about this wonderful man of God, after his Great Witness, is the fact that each of us felt like he was not only our Pastor, but our friend. To make so many people feel that they are your personal friend is a very special gift.

I thank God for allowing Dr. Drew E. Marshall to touch our lives in such a personal and profound way. I pray for each of us as we grieve and heal and move to the next phase God has planned for each of us.

Much Love, Delores Robertson

My deepest sympathy and condolences to the Marshall family, Trinity Missionary Baptist Church family and the New Faith family.

I am Blessed beyond measures to have had the Honor of knowing Rev Dr Drew E Marshall. Pastor Marshall was one of a kind...he was a rare unique Gem. His smile was so contagious that everything surrounding him would automatically glow. He was sincere, dedicated, LOVED the children, a teacher, a motivator, very compassionate, etc. He was simply PHENOMENAL! Pastor Marshall was a MAN of GOD and his personlity spoke volumes. Pastor Marshall has touched and changed many lives, young and old. My christian walk has been changed and I will forever Love him for that! I'm going to miss him dearly, especially in our "Young Adult" bookclub meetings...he knew he could "grub"!
God had some challenging duties in Heaven that needed to be worked out...and he called on his dedicated, obedient servant...because he knew that only Pastor Marshall could conquer those challenges...just as he had here on Earth!
I will always remember you saying five powerful words to the congregation time and time again..."I am ready, are you?" How convicting!
Pastor Marshall...you will forever be a part of my life memories and I can't wait to see you again.

To Drew family,

Drew was always a loving and kind-hearted person. While he was at New Faith, he touched so many lives and saved many souls. Dr. Marshall was solely missed at New Faith. He never changed after getting his doctorate degree; he remained grounded.
As neighbors, I would see him walking pass my house and he would always stop and say something funny or we would joke about being preacher's kids.
He was an outstanding Man of God and was proud to be a Servant of God. We will keep you his family and church family in our prayers. He will definitely be missed on this side and greeted on the other side (Heaven).

God Bless You and Keep You during this very difficult time,

Angela Jordan Hampton

To The Marshall Family,
What a man? What a man? Reverend Drew Marshall was a man after God's own heart. God had to take him from this evil world. The RIGHTEOUS or the good ones will go first. I have had the pleasure of knowing him for 20 years and I know this was a good man. I will surely miss you Drew. Your smile, your laughter and your presence. The FACT is you died on June 25, 2011. But we won't dwell on the facts, because the TRUTH is your spirit is NOW with the Lord forever. I know that God has said "My faithful Servant...a job well done." When I think of Drew I think of God's love. Drew had much love for God's people. Jerry Stephen, my friend know that your uncle loved you and you will see him again. May God comfort you and your family at this time. I love you.

Words cannot express our thankfulness to God for giving us a "People's Pastor". It is not often that you find a pastor so approachable, down to earth, and in tune with his flock!

Even though we moved to Houston, Texas in 2009, Pastor Marshall continued to pastor us long distance! We were able to talk by phone and/or text, and visit when he came to town. He connected us with good people here and made sure we were okay.

Sarah loved him in a special way. He is responsible for her spiritual foundation. She expressed so many great memories including her baptism and being called to the podium to pray at one of the Prayer Vigils at age 5! KJ remembers that Pastor Marshall laughed a lot and always came to visit them at Children's Church!

We are praying for the Marshall Family and our Trinity Family as we go through this time of mourning. As God begins the healing process, may we all forever remember how our lives were individually touched by such a great man of God in the person of Pastor Drew Marshall.

I am so thankful to have known Dr. Drew Marshall. When I came to Houston over 22 years ago seeking a church home, I knew I had found it once I heard Rev. Marshall pray. He prayed those bone-chilling prayers that always made me feel everything would be alright. I grew so much spiritually under his teachings. I'll miss him greatly, but I do know he believed in what he taught and preached about so i can rejoice that he's in a much better place, where we'll meet again some day.

The homegoing celebration for my Pastor today was grand. Everything was done decently and in order. He was a great man. Everyone said the same thing about him. You don't meet men like him often. A very compassionate and passionate person who loved the Lord. Dr. Marshall shared his love with his entire congregation. I have grown spiritually under his leadership. I am glad to go to church and praise the Lord. I will never listen to Aretha Franklin again and not think of his big smile. Thank you Lord for loaning him to us for these years. You are an all wise God and while we will miss him, we know he is safe in your arms.

Every new day the LORD never fails! So glad I was blessed to see and hear you preach on Mother's Day this year! Didn't have the chance to speak to you but you still brought laughter to me, my mom and the TMBC family calling me "Chucky"! You, Larry, Anita, Tim, and the rest of the family will always remain dear to my heart. We're still a part of GOD's family. Stay in the race Marshall family.

Pastor Marshall was not only a great Pastor he was a great man. I told my daughter that he was such a wonderful preacher and teacher that God needed his help in Heaven so he can preach and teach there. I love him and I am going to miss him.

Dr. Marshall has had a shorter journey with us as our Pastor than we expected. It has been a very rewarding one for us as members of his flock at Trinity. I, Joe Sanders, Jr certainly appreciate his compassion and caring as he was supportive of me during my times of need during his tenure. His preaching and teaching power have been a tremendous stimulus to Trinity. His Wednesday Bible Study classes were informative and provided tremendous insight and opportunity for spiritual growth. We Love You and Will Miss You greatly. Bro. Joe Sanders Jr and 8is. Barbara A. Sanders.

No words can truly express how Rev. Marshall impacted my life. He was with New Faith for 20 years....I am 29 so basically my entire life. God truly has his angel by his side, and though I will miss him more then I can say, I know he is resting in God's arms. Blessings to the Trinity Church family for we will all miss him forever.

To the Family of the Honorable Dr. Drew E. Marshall
I thank God for the eminent pleasure of knowing an outstanding man who genuinely loved God.
Upon knowing Dr. Marshall, he always exemplified the characteristics of Christ, whether it was through his prayers, messages, conversation, social assemblies, etc.; Christ was the center of his daily walk.
Dr. Marshall was so faithful and dedicated in his work and taught us to draw our wisdom, strength, peace and hope in the Glory of the Lord. Our everything is in him. (Ephesians 6:10).
Dr. Marshall had an amiable relationship with our family and enjoyed, as we also, the marvelous conversations, great laughter, and delicious cuisine.
During the course of Dr. Marshalls own tribulations, he eulogized my Dad only 2 months ago, but with an anointed righteousness, he continued to walk as Jesus did to comfort others because of his love for Christ. (Hebrews 10:24)
Thank you, Dr. Marshall, for your endless love of God you immensely gave each and every day to all who came in your presence. Great is your reward in Heaven, the reward is God himself!!!

My thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends and everyone touched by the life of Rev. Dr. Drew E. Marshall. A true man of God and servant of God’s people. Strong preacher, a Bible Teacher like none other, a man who truly loved his family and friends, committed servant to the Kingdom of God across the nation in the area of Singles Ministries and Christian Education.

I had the special privilege of having been his Ministry Assistant at New Faith Church for over 15 years – a wonderful opportunity given to me by God to work daily side by side and support him in his capacity as Minister of Christian Education and later as Assistant Pastor of New Faith Church. My life is richer and stronger from having this wonderful privilege.

And now God has called him to receive the ultimate reward – a place in the Heavenly Kingdom.

Even as our tears flow, we will truly miss him, but the memories that we will treasure and hold in our hearts and minds are PRICELESS and PRECIOUS. Rest in Peace – Dr. Drew!!!

To the entire Family of Pastor Marshall and to my Trinty Church Family, words cannot express the loss we all feel at this time. Pastor loved his family, friends, Trinty and New Faith and his mark has been left on everyone he came in contact with. But more importantly he loved God with everything in him and though we won't be privileged to audiably hear him pray, preach, teach or say something funny, his presence will softly touch each of us. As Deacon Magee said in his prayer, it is not goodbye, it just Good Night. See you in that great gettin up morning! Your BFF Paula

This giant voice and pleasant smile is missed but will never be forgotten. Thank you Lord for Dr. Drew and allowing him to be obedient to your will and ways.

My condolences go out to the Rev. Marshall's family and church family. I have known him a long time. Who knew that the boy who made us laugh in class would be one of God's most prolific preachers. God is so good and HE must have wanted Drew more. May all of you have the satisfaction of knowing that He did know the Lord. God Bless all of you

To the Marshall family, Pastor Marshall was a blessing to me and my family. We moved from Michigan to North Carolina last year, and we have missed Trinity and our Pastor greatly. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you but we know his suffering is over and he is home with our Lord.

Dr. Drew E. Marshall lived the sermons he preached and for that we say "well done". The Providence Missionary Baptist Church family and the Martin family will always hold a special place in our hearts for this dynamic "man of God". Though your voice is silenced your work truly speaks for you.

Dr. Marshall I am so grateful to God that you are my Pastor. Trinity is a blessed Body of Christ. Every time you stood to proclaim the Word of God on sundays and taught bible study, that if I was obedient to the Word of God I can make it. I will always be thankful that you encouraged the singles to participate at the National Congress Singles Conference as well as being in ministry at Trinity. You were encouraging at my grandmother's homegoing. Your words of encouragement at her homegoing will forever be apart of many memories. She loved that you were her Pastor. To the Marshall family, my family and I are praying for you now and in the days ahead. Pastor, Till We Meet Again at Jesus feet.

I remember when Drew found out that I worked for the Company who managed his subdivision; he was never late with his annual assessment,(SMILE). Drew Marshall spoke the same way to you even if you were not in church, He was truly real. God Bless the Marshall Family and know that; "God does not make mistakes". God needed Drew more. We are truly glad to have known him as a person and a true man of God. Gus & Tommie Green New Faith Church Houston, TX

To the entire Marshall Family,

Rev. Dr. Drew Marshall truly was a man of
God. I will never forget growing up at New Bethel Baptist Church with him, singing in the choir, our Sunday school classes, working in the youth ministry, and when he was chosen by God to become a minister. Rev. Amos G. Johnson was so proud, and so was the church. He will be missed.
You have our most deepest sympathy. He is now resting in the arms of our Lord.
May God bless you all.

Words can not express what a blessing Dr. Drew Marshall was to me. He was truly a kind, caring and compassion man. He was a great teacher and I am glad to have known him 10-15+ yrs at New Faith Church. He is now present w/the Lord. I will never forget his signature smile. May God bless his family and I am sure some Mahalia Jackson music will be playing at his funeral. He made sure we knew he loved her music.

I will never forget the Sunday that it was announced that Dr. Drew Marshall was leaving New Faith in Houston, Texas to go back home to preach in Michigan. I remember sitting in the pew fighting back tears, feeling so hurt, like the wind had been knocked out of my body, thinking about how much I would miss his sermons, the smile on his face, his laugh and great personality...his faithfulness to the church and its members. I felt the same way when I learned that he had passed on to glory. He has touched so many of our lives in so many different and blessed ways that we simply cannot list them all here. As everyone else, I too am so saddened to hear about the loss of Rev. Marshall, but I know that heaven is greatly rejoicing. For me, Rev. Marshall was so special because he was so sincere and passionate about God and his relationship with our Father in Heaven. It is so hurtful to us because although we know that he is in the best place anyone can ever be, we will miss seeing him and sharing with him here. To God be the glory for the opportunity that we were all afforded to come in contact and get to know such a special and wonderful man of God.

To the Marshall family:
May God continue to keep you and give you strength as only He can.

We extend our deepest condolences to the Marshall family and to the Trinity MBC family. We will miss Dr. Marshall's preaching & teaching, his "people friendly" personality, his sense of humor, but most of all his demonstration of what it meant to be humble and to truly love GOD. See you on the other side Dr. Marshall. BUT remember you have to wait til we get there before you can crown HIM, LORD of Lords!

Dr. Drew Marshall was truly a servant of God. His love for God and the Word of God was demonstrated through his preaching and teaching. He greatly influenced the male congregants of New Faith Church by modeling how men should live according to the Word of God with integrity.

We are praying for the Marshall Family as well as the Trinity Church Family. Allow God’s love to give you peace and comfort during this transition. Allow the Word of God to give you purpose and direction for the days ahead.

I was saddened to hear of the death of my seminary colleague and friend, Rev. Dr. Drew E. Marshall, on Sunday. Though many years have passed since we last talked I remember him as a sincere servant of God, a powerful, anointed preacher of the Word with great gifts for ministry, an engaging personality and a great sense of humor. It is so fitting that Drew would return home to pastor Trinity Baptist in the last years of his life. During our days at Colgate Rochester Divinity School in the 1980s he held Trinity in a dear and sacred place in his heart. May God be with Dr. Marshall's family and his beloved Trinity Church family during this time of loss while giving thanks for a life lived in faithfulness.
