Joseph Fortino Obituary
FORTINO, JOSEPH; of Waterford; March 7, 2014; age 92; born January 13, 1922 in Pontiac, MI. Son of the late Dominic and Teresa Fortino; husband of the late Mary C. Fortino “Babe”; step-grandfather of Billy and Kathy Mondor; brother of the late Frank Fortino, Harry Fortino, Evelyn Fortino Salvador, Dr. Charles Fortino and Thomas Rudolph Fortino; survived by many loving nieces and nephews; lifetime friend and companion of Alice Shafto and family; also survived by extended family Steven Trapp (Peggy), Nancy Trapp Bratt (William) and their families. Mr. Fortino served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during W.W.II and was the co-owner of the Bicmar Inn and Fortino’s Steak House. He bartended at the Pontiac Country Club and was a Life Member of the Pontiac-Waterford Elks B.P.O.E #810. He loved golfing, bowling, dancing and a good party. Mr. Fortino will Lie in State Wednesday, March 12, 2014, 10 a.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church until time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Rite of Committal to follow at Mt. Hope Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Donelson, Johns and Evans Funeral Home Tuesday 4 to 8 p.m. Elks Lodge of Sorrow Tuesday 7 p.m..
