Lewis M. Wrenn Jr. Obituary
WRENN, LEWIS M. JR.; passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 20, 2013 in Petoskey, Michigan at the age of eighty-four (84). Born in Pontiac, Michigan to parents, Lewis M. Wrenn and Margaret Heffernan, he was the beloved brother of John Wrenn and is survived by his beloved sister, Mary Krall. He was a graduate of Pontiac Central High School and Michigan State University and was a member of the U.S. Army stationed in Japan during the Korean War. He met his late wife Marilyn Howes while at Michigan State and they raised four children together in Bloomfield Hills, MI. He is survived by these loving children, Kelly, Amy and Alicia (all in the Washington DC area) and Julie (Glenview, IL). He is also survived by his adoring grandchildren Claire, Alicia and Wrenn (Robert) Vieth, Eloise and Julia Goldsmith and Nicole and Brigitte Sisto. Lewis was a self-made man and was the founder and President of Lewco Products Co., Inc. which supplied industrial roofing and flooring products to the automotive industry for over fifty-five (55) years. Upon retirement, he resided in Naples, Florida where he met his cherished wife, Cindy, after which they spent their summers in Petoskey, Michigan. Lew was a lifelong member of the Birmingham, MI Optimist Club and a member of the Presbyterian Church, Kirk in the Hills in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. He loved golf, sailing, his family, watching the MSU Spartans and spending time with friends. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Evans Scholarship Foundation at 1 Briar Rd, Golf, IL 60029 (847-724-4600) which provides college scholarships to young caddies in financial need. Lew will be remembered as a maverick; a man with a twinkle in this eye, a ready joke and a friendly handshake. As a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend; his joyful, generous and loving spirit remains eternal. We will miss you Dad - see you on the other side! A Memorial Service is planned at Birchwood Golf and Country Club in Harbor Springs, Michigan on the first tee of The Woods Course at 2 p.m., Monday, July 1, 2013.
