Ronald D. Russ Obituary
RUSS, RONALD D.; age 67; of Fallon, Nevada formerly of Flint, Michigan; died February 7, 2014 at his home after battling lung cancer. He is survived by his wife, Janet Russ; brothers George (Liz) Russ and Bob (Maureen) Russ; sister Vicki (Trent) Crapo; daughter Annette (Tim) Finney; step-daughter Stacey (Bill) Lee; step-son Adam Beswetherick; many nieces and nephews, and eight grand children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Lila Russ; sister Glenna Nowling, and sister Ann Desautels. Mr. Russ grew up in Flint, Michigan, and joined the U.S. Marine Corp where he became a Lance Corporal, serving three tours of duty during the Vietnam War. He worked as both an electrician and carpenter, and he owned and operated Russ's Trading Post, a family-owned grocery store in Lake City, Michigan for over seven years. He loved to fly, and held a pilot's license for flying a twin-engine airplane. Construction projects and black Labradors were among his passions. In honor of Ron's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 3 p.m., at the Sharp Funeral Home, 6063 Fenton Rd. in Flint. Donations may be made to the or the McLaren Cancer Institute.
