William D. Schwalbe Obituary
SCHWALBE, WILLIAM D.; age 86; of Port Huron and Clarkston; died unexpectedly of natural causes on April 29, 2012. Bill was a bachelor who loved sports, and rarely missed a Big Reds or Huskies football game. He was a graduate of Port Huron High School and Port Huron Junior College, and the Universities of Michigan and Nebraska. A World War II veteran, he was a member of the U.S. Army's 24th Cavalry Squadron. He worked for GM's Pontiac Motors Division for 38 years. Bill was a member of both Grace Episcopal Church Port Huron and All Saints Episcopal Church in Pontiac. He is survived by his first cousins, Janet Thayer and William Webb; and several other cousins and friends. A Funeral Service will take place at 1 p.m. Friday in Grace Episcopal Church with The Rev. Robert Trask officiating. A Graveside Committal Service will follow in Lakeside Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Smith Family Funeral Home - South, 1230 7th Street. Memorial contributions may be made at the discretion of the donor.
