Bernadine Phillips Obituary
Phillips, Bernadine (Bonnie); age 89; of Eagan, Minnesota, formerly of Pontiac; went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 30, 2014. She will be missed and remembered always by her family and friends, including four surviving children, Martin (the late Pam) Phillips, John (Kim) Phillips, Vonnie Lynn (Mike) McGraw, Kevin (Linda) Phillips; and sister, Lorraine Hester; beloved grandmother of Timothy, Jeffery, Danielle, Kenneth, Aaron, Grant, Allan, Amy, Scott, Jamie, Beth, and Diana; great grandmother of Ainsley, Luke, Evan, Hope, Paige, Breanna, Austin, Lance, Ty, Braylen, Elaina, and Jake. Bonnie was predeceased by her son, Gene Phillips; and sister, Colleen Burwell. Bonnie was widowed and then divorced as a young woman and then spent the remaining years of her life dedicated to raising her five children. She always said that it was her and the Lord who raised them. Bonnie worked most of her life as a Dietary Technician at Pontiac General Hospital. She enjoyed crocheting, doing word finds, baking, and watching “Wheel of Fortune.” She was a longtime member of the North Perry Baptist Church in Pontiac (now North Auburn Hills Baptist of Auburn Hills). She loved serving her Lord there with her family and friends. Even in her final days approaching her 90th birthday, she attended First Calvary Baptist Church in MN. Funeral Service Friday, June 6, 2014, 11 a.m. with an In State time of 10 a.m. at the North Auburn Hills Baptist Church, 3889 N. Squirrel Rd., Auburn Hills. The family will receive friends Thursday 3 to 8 p.m. at the Modetz Funeral Home, 100 E. Silverbell Rd., Orion. Online guestbook
