Dean Richard Keller, 80, of Sheffield Lake, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at St. Mary of the Wood, Avon.
He was born Dec. 29, 1932 in Wauseon, Ohio.
He graduated in 1955 from Ohio State University and worked 15 years as a registered engineer and surveyor for USX, 10 years as director of facilities at Cleveland State University, and four years as director of public services for the city of Willoughby.
He served with the Boy Scouts of America and the Oberlin Baseball Federation. Dean was a member of the First Congretional Church of Lorain, North Ridge Racquet Club, Tennis Club in Avon Lake, and Vandemere Club in Hilton Head.
He enjoyed tennis, sailing, boating, and bicycling.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Jean Keller of Sheffield Lake; son, Larry (Eva) Keller of Waynesboro, Ga.; daughter, Lisa (Roy) Scherler of Medina; and grandchildren John, Jordan, Andrea, Dana, and Julia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Fanny Keller.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7 at First Congregational Church in Lorain.
There will be a private family burial at a later date in Westwood Cemetery.
