Arcenia (Cenie) Marshall, 89, of Oberlin, died Saturday, Oct. 19 at St. Anne's Hospital, Westerville, Ohio, following a short illness.
She was born Nov. 27, 1923 in Oberlin, where she was a lifelong resident.
She worked at U.S. Steel during World War II and also worked at Muller Packing Co. and Lorain County Detention Home, where she and her husband, Charles, were supervisors.
Arcenia was a past member of Willard B. Holmes Post 656 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bingo, watching the Cleveland Indians, Browns, Cavaliers, Notre Dame, and Ohio State Buckeyes.
She is survived by her sons, Charles L. Marshall II, Duane Marshall, and Gilbert Marshall, all of Oberlin; daughters Penny Smith of Columbus and Kirsten C. Womack of Lakewood; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Marshall I; son, Kenneth Marshall; brother, William Wooten; father, Marshall Wooten; and mother, Valley Robinson.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24 at the Cowling Funeral Home, Oberlin.
Private family burial will be at a later date at Westwood Cemetery.
