Maria Christina D'Ambrosio

Maria Cristina D'Ambrosio August 1, 1952 to February 6, 2014 Maria was born in Bronx, New York and traveled with her family from New York to Florida where they owned hotels and restaurants. She attended schools in New York, Florida and Canada. After graduation from high school Maria served in the US Air Force during the early 70's. When Maria was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force she made Spokane, Washington her home. Maria graduated with a bachelor of arts and business administration from Eastern Washington University in 1980. She began working for the State of Washington's Employment Security program in 1978. She moved to Lacey, Washington several years ago and worked in the skies program until her death. Maria's passion was photography and she shared this passion with her friends and family. Anything in the natural world was her subject and she brought her photos to life. Maria spent the last several summers taking "bucket list" trips to Alaska, Grand Canyon, and Mexico and photographed her adventures. Maria was a very resilient and strong individual. She made everyone around her better and her positive attitude was very uplifting. Maria is survived by her loving son Jeremy, her sister-in-law Ruth, nieces and nephews, and many good friends. All who knew her, loved her. Maria will be greatly missed. A celebration of life service for Maria will be held on Friday, February 21, 2014 at 11 AM to 1 PM at the VFW Hall 2902½Martin Way East Olympia, WA 98506.
