Alyce B. Irwin

Alyce Irwin, 96, passed away June 1, 2011, in Olympia, Washington. She was born December 3, 1914, to Clyde and Sadie Jacobs in Olympia. She attended Lincoln Grade School and graduated from Olympia High School in 1933. She was an accomplished pianist and played for the high school choir. She married James "Jim" Irwin in January 1934.
Alyce had a deep, abiding faith in Jesus Christ. She loved her Savior and was an example of Christian love to us all. She was deeply concerned for all her family and friends and prayed they would accept Christ as their Savior. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tumwater. Alyce was always cheerful (even in pain), full of life, God's special angel. She loved music, traveling, hiking and socializing; she never met a stranger.
Alyce is survived by sons Terry and wife Mary, and Dick "Butch" and wife Miriam; daughter Pat; brother, Bill and wife Pat; 17 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Jimmie, and sister Franny.
Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2011, at First Baptist Church of Tumwater. Memorial donations may be made to the church or a charity of choice. Leave remembrances at www.FuneralAlternatives.org. Arrangements are with Funeral Alternatives of Washington 360-753-1065.

We were blessed at Olympics West to have Miss Alyce at our facility. Sometimes God blesses us with angels amoung us, That was what she was to us. She was a gracious and loving lady who will be truly missed, but always remain in our hearts.

Though you were so loved and will be truly missed we all know the Lord has brought home a very speical Angel. And without a doubt we know Grandpa Irwin was waiting with his arms opened wide and a smile in his heart. Lord please Bless this family and help us to hold on to our thoughts and beautiful memories.
