Annie Ruth Scoggins

Annie Ruth Scoggins, 76, passed away on April 15, 2011 after battling a long-term illness. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia to Viola and Charles Raymond Scoggins. As a waitress, Annie led a vibrant life and brought conversation to people in many places including Virginia, Texas, and Pennsylvania. She loved dancing, decorating, word searches, good Southern homestyle cooking, and keeping in touch with family and friends. Those who knew her well will remember her feisty spirit, sense of humor, and her appreciation of animal companions.
She is survived by her children, Brenda Pierce of Lakewood, Washington; Marie Nazzaro, White Plains, Maryland; Thomas Albert, of Pennsylvania; and grandchildren, Aimee Kelly and husband Zane of Fredericksburg, VA; Robert Pierce and wife Christina of Tumwater, WA; Jessica Burrows and husband Christopher of Mechanicsville, MD; and Stephanie Dutra of Barton, MD. She also leaves behind her sister, Patricia Ruark; and brothers, Mike McDuff and Johnny Scoggins. There will be a private family service. Donations in her memory may be made to local animal shelters.
