Barbara Thygeson Obituary

Barbara Ann Thygeson

Barbara Ann Thygeson passed away on Feb 18, 2011. She came in to this world on April 13, 1921. She grew up in Salem, Oregon, graduating from Salem High School in 1939. To further her education, she came to Seattle and graduated from the University of Washington's School of Nursing in 1944. She held a variety of different nursing jobs. She worked in different private doctor's offices and as a hospital administrator. In the late 1960's she was a school nurse for Seattle's Marshall Junior High School and then Lincoln High School. She retired as a Nursing Care Consultant Supervisor for Washington's Department of Social and Health Services. She spent most of her retirement years in Lacey, WA. In her younger years she enjoyed horseback riding, tennis and traveling to the Oregon coast. During her retirement she enjoyed traveling throughout the world, playing bridge and reading a good book.
She is survived by her son, Russel Mackie; and her grandchildren, Danielle Mackie and Sean Mackie.
She requested to be cremated and interred with her mother in Riverview Abbey, in Portland, OR. Please sign our online guest book at: www.Howden-kennedy.com.
