Carlun Ware Obituary

Carlun E. Ware Carlun passed away in Olympia, Washington on June 16, 2014 at the age of 90. He was born in Dryad, Washington and lived in the Olympia area most of his life. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael; his parents, Amanda and Cecil; and his siblings, Harold, Violet, and Clarence. He is survived by his wife, June; children, Karen Walter and Terry Ware; grandchildren, Danielle, Andy and wife Vicky, Brett and wife Lauren, and Travis; his great-grandson, Thomas and wife Ashton; and nieces and nephews. Carlun graduated from Olympia High School in 1942 and joined the U.S. Army. He fought in New Guinea and the Philippines and returned home by hospital ship, arriving the day before the WWII ended. He worked at odd jobs until he became employed at Fort Lewis as a typewriter repairman, where he eventually retired in electronics and missiles. Carlun's friendly personality earned him many lifelong friends and he will be truly missed. There will be a viewing on Sunday, June 22, 2014, 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at South Sound Manor, 455 North St. SE, Tumwater, WA 98501. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at South Sound Manor. Please leave memories at: www.FuneralAlternatives.org
