Larry and family, our comforting thoughts are with you. Carol was always a most gracious and warm person. She always showed interest in others. We've know Carol since the early 1990s when Colleen was in Rotary with Larry; as mutual friends of Bob and Pat and later when Carol was the roommate of Colleen's aunt at The Hampton. She always retained those warm, sparkling eyes and a warm smile for everyone. You are in our hearts.

Carol will be sorely missed! She was a super person and we feel deeply for the family! Larry was a faithful, loving and serving husband! He stood by her with the love only a husband can give! Our heart goes out to him and the family - Joseph and Christy Beaulieu

Carol Engel was a talented teacher who cared deeply for her students and colleagues. She started in the Tumwater School District in 1966. She worked at Peter G. Schmidt Elementary untill 1981 or 1982. She transfered to Black Lake Elementary and worked there untill 1989-90. Carol was on the team that helped to open the new East Olympia and ultimately retired from East Olympia Elementary. After her retirement Carol was a welcome substitute teacher for the students at East Oly and also served as a consultatant assisting students and teachers on an as needed basis. The years Carol shared her gifts with the Tumwater School District were a blessing to all who had the fortune to be in her class. Carol was an exceptional educator and a wonderful friend. We will miss her deerly.

Please accept my sincere sympathy in your loss. Carol gave so much not just to her family, but to those around her. I had the pleasure of teaching with Carol and took with me so many lessons. My favorite was 'never do for a child, what a child can do for themself'. I loved that lady's laugh and sense of humor. What a gift it was to teach first grade with her! May God bless
