Charles Henry Whitt

Charles passed away at his home on Feb 2, 2011 surrounded by his family, after a lengthy illness.
Born to George Dewey and Malvory (Gibbs) Whitt Jan 3, 1931 in Alvin, WI, he moved to Olympia when he was 3 years old. Charles graduated from Olympia High School in 1949. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a planerman in the lumber industry. His hobbies included playing any string instrument, fishing, hunting, camping and spending time with his family. Charles could always be heard espousing his wisdom and tall tales to his children and grandchildren.
Charles is survived by his wife Loretta; children, Cherie (Matt) Howe, Colleen Logsdon, Thomas (Kathy), Charles (Tammie), James (Kristy), Stephanie (Ryan) Mace, Kristinna (Michael Bennett), and 14 grandchildren, brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Charles was preceded in death by his mother and father, sisters Media, Rella, Florence, and Shirley, and brother James and granddaughter Ebony.
The family suggests any donations be made to the Seattle Childrens Hospital.
