Clara Mae Thompson

Clara Mae Thompson of Lacey died on March 5, 2011 at the age of 82. Clara Mae was born on Nov 29, 1928 in Oakwood, OK. She was the oldest of 3 children born to Francis W. Kent Sr. and Bonnie M. (French) Kent. Her family moved to WA in the early 1930's.
Clara Mae attended South Bay Grade School and Olympia High School. She played softball on the school team and played violin in the school orchestra.
Clara Mae married Glenn E. Thompson on Nov 24, 1946 in Port Angeles, WA. To this marriage was born 4 children, all of whom survive her; son Marvin L. (Donna) Thompson, Visalia, CA, daughters Glenda M. (Clifford) Rossiter, Dexter, OR, Karen L. Clark, Olympia, WA, Darlene J. (John) Lambert, Lacey, WA, 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Clara Mae a was a homemaker all of her life and greatly enjoyed crocheting, sewing, houseplants, and gardening. Because of her husband's employment she lived in many places in the U.S. and Europe, but always returned to WA and called Olympia home.
Clara Mae was preceded in death by her mother, father, brother, sister, husband, and 1 grandson.
Services will be held Friday March 11, 2011. Viewing 10:00 a.m.- 12:45 p.m. at Forest Funeral Home, 2501 Pacific Ave. SE, Olympia, WA 98501. Funeral at 1:00 p.m., Forest Funeral Home.
