Doris Morrow Obituary

Doris Maude Morrow

Doris, 91, passed away April 21, 2011. She was born on July 7, 1919 in Wahpeton, North Dakota to Clarence R. and
Nina (Dada) Argersinger, the second of four girls. Doris grew up in Forman, North Dakota and graduated from Forman High School.
After High School she attended St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing, in Aberdeen, South Dakota, graduating as a registered nurse in 1940. She wanted to experience new things and moved west to begin her nursing career at a small hospital in Elma, Washington where she met, fell in love with and in January, 1942 married Roy A. Morrow.
Doris continued her nursing career for many years working at St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, as a school nurse for the Yelm, Littlerock and Rochester School Districts, as an instructor for a practical nursing course at Maple Lane School for Girls and as a geriatric nurse for Fir Lane Terrace Convalescent Center in Shelton. Doris had many interests and hobbies especially enjoying crocheting, doing the daily crossword puzzle and talking on the telephone and was a devoted mother and grandmother. But most of all, she loved to travel. She and Roy visited all 50 states, 49 of them by car and several of the US Trust territories.
She is survived by daughters, Sue Isbell of Olympia and Mary (Jack) Dowell of Jordan Valley, Oregon; sons,
Allen (Fern) of Olympia and Joe (Molly) of Ellensburg; 10 grandchildren, 8 great- grandchildren; and sister, Mary
Leslie of Rochester, Minnesota. She was predeceased by her husband, Roy in 2007; daughter, Karen Allen in 2010; son-inlaw, DeWayne Isbell in 1991 and sisters,
Carol Parrow in 2007 and Peg Tyler in 2011.
The Morrow family would like to extend their sincere appreciation and thanks to the staff at Puget Sound Healthcare Center for their loving and tender care during her last days.
The family asks donations be made in Doris's name to the Resident's Activity Fund at Puget Sound Healthcare Center, 4001 Capitol Mall Drive, Olympia, WA 98502 or to your favorite charity.

My fondest memories from childhood will be her laugh, the sound of her voice and her smile. I'm pretty sure she was a step ahead of us when Mary and I schemed to not eat our vegetables or drink milk but still be able to have ice cream. Your family is very special to me--I keep you all in my heart! Forever friends, Deb
