Elizabeth Ann

(Wilson) Mettler
Elizabeth Ann (Wilson) Mettler, 67, of Olympia, WA, went to be with the Lord on April 28, 2011 after a brief battle with cancer. Born June 7, 1943, in Winfield, KS, to Ralph and Cecelia Wilson, she attended Ursuline Academy (Paola, KS), Mennorah Medical Center (X-Ray), South Puget Sound Community College, and graduated from Evergreen State College (Business and Accounting) in 1990. On July 20, 1968, she married Kenneth Mettler.
Liz worked for the State of Washington until retiring in 2008. She lived her life following Christ and served as a Stephen Minister and a hospice volunteer. She loved to play bridge, sew, collect angels, go to the ocean, decorate and bake for Christmas, cook and entertain, spend time with her grandchildren, and give away homemade salsa and candies. Liz will be especially remembered for her love and generosity and finding ways to help others in need.
Liz is survived by her loving husband Ken, and two sons Thom and Bryant; daughters-in-law Dana and Jenna; seven grandchildren: Brianna, Brayden, Julie, Joelle, Jaelynn, Caleb, and Tad; three brothers: K. Liz was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service and reception to celebrate Liz's life will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2011, at 2:30 p.m. at New Bridge Community Church, 812 Central St SE, Olympia. Purple attire is encouraged.

I worked with Liz at CTED and it gave me great joy when I realized we found the same church. Liz was a beautiful spirit and I feel blessed to have known her in this life. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. I take comfort in the knowledge we will share eternity in our Lord's house.

Ken & Family - I was saddened to hear of Liz's passing. Liz had a wicked good sense of humor and always found a way to make me laugh, even when I was a moody teen. I will miss her occasional knock on my Folks door just to say hi and catch up and I will always remember her with a smile. May you find comfort in your memories and know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

To Family,
My deepest condolence and sympathy. I shared many trips, memory, laughs and year of history with Liz, as we monitored projects funded with Housing Trust Fund, especially those projects in Seattle. She will truly be missed.

Liz, my friend, I can't believe you are gone, so fast. As practical as you always were, I keep seeing a little bird flitting from the telephone wires of my thoughts. It is you. You're saying, honey, it's all good, this is how it works you know. So how did you think this life ends? For me, Liz, with you in it for awhile longer. Thank you for bringing your little bird self to me. I will miss you.
