Elton A. Kirby Jr. Elton Alexander Kirby Jr was born October 24, 1923 in Ottawa, Kansas to Elton Alexander Kirby Sr and Margaret Tillson. He passed peacefully completely surrounded by the love of his family on October 13, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Kirby (Campillo). He is survived by his sons, Elton A. Kirby III (Kris) and Robert S. Kirby (Teri); his grandchildren, Elton A. Kirby IV, Demarious Jenkins (Luke), and Madison Rose Kirby; niece, Linda Campillo (Scott) and a large and extended circle of loving family and friends. Elton grew up in Kansas and served in WWII. He met his love, Margaret Campillo, at a Sunday afternoon Tea Dance at the Palladium and they were married shortly thereafter. Elton retired from his career as an LA County Deputy Sheriff after 25 years of service. He was proud of the fact that he was retired longer than he worked. He spent his retirement traveling, fishing, camping, reading, loving up his grandchildren and spending time with his family. His family would like to send special thanks to our amazing circle of friends, caregivers and Providence Hospice. There will be a private family gathering to celebrate his long and full life of 9 decades on this earth.
