Fred Thompson

Fredrick Harold Thompson, a 44-year resident of Olympia, Washington, passed away April 2, 2011, at his home. He was 81. Fred was born September 7, 1929, in Aberdeen, WA, to Oscar and Ellen Thompson.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Force from September 1946 to August 1949, including tours in Germany and Japan. He was married to the love of his life, Doris, for 54 years. A barber by trade, he was affectionately known as "Fred the Barber" in his neighborhood. He loved painting, fishing, visiting the ocean, and was an avid reader.
Fred is survived by his wife, Doris; daughters, Kathy and Loreli; brothers, Joe, Nick and Terry; sisters, Mary Ann and Joyce; 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. No services are planned. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Providence Sound Home Care and Hospice.
