H. Freelen Cox

Freelen Cox, 94, a 60 year resident of Tenino died peacefully Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at Liberty Country Place in Centralia.
Freelen was born February 7, 1917, in Arkansas to Lonnie Cox and Pearl Minton. He married Mary Lou Rice and had two daughters, Barbara and Mary Anne. After their divorce he married Helen Wells in South Dakota in 1946. Freelen and Helen were married for 55 years until her death in 2001. They had a son, Lee and a daughter Marcella. He married Doris Penny on June 6, 2002. In 1960 Freelen started his own logging company, Freelen Cox and Son. It was renamed Cox & Cox Logging after he and Lee became partners. He was self-employed for 20 years. He retired in 1980 and became a gentleman farmer until this past year.
He is survived by Doris and her family; son Lee (Kathy) Cox, daughter Marcella (Walter) Morgan, and Maryanne Wise; ten grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Freelen was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Allen; his parents, and two brothers.
Grave side services will be at held Forest Grove Cemetery, Tenino, WA this Saturday, March 19 at 2:00 p.m. Newell-Hoerling Mortuary, Centralia, WA is in charge of arrangements.

i will always remember uncle frelen for they way he tickled until it hurt to laugh. alwsys bringing my grandma fresh beets and trout. he could make anyone smile.

Lee Kathy and Marcella;
My parents Dick and Marge Baughn used to own the Frontier Restaurant back in the day. I remember all of you so very well. My Dad passed in 2000. My Mom and I send our deepest sympathy in this time of such sorrow.
