Joshua Englund Obituary

Joshua Earl Englund 3/1/1976 - 5/28/2011

Josh, 35 was born March 1, 1976 in Centralia, WA to Jack & Susan Englund. On May 28, 2011 at 12:10am, Josh lost his courageous fight with lymphoma cancer while surrounded by family and close friends.
A memorial service will be held June 3, 2011 at 3:00pm at Olympia Christian Reformed Church in Olympia, WA.
Josh entered this world with an appetite for adventure. Whether he was on his horse, motorcycle, tractor or in his classic car, he was always heading somewhere. He continued this spirit of looking forward through his battle with cancer, never giving in to fear but continually planning all of the things he would do when he won the battle.

Josh was a man that knew how to love. He loved his God and his family with all of his being. He made friends easily with everyone he met. And those that know him would say they are a better person for having him in their lives. He would often stop to help strangers on the roadway. He would drop whatever he was doing to help a friend with a home improvement project or car repair. He lived his life in a way as to make the most of every moment and that often included just being there for others when called.
Josh was very creative and could always figure out how to get to the end result. He would often "MacGyver" together materials when he didn't have everything on hand. He worked as a mechanical engineer for many years and enjoyed the challenge of designing and building machinery.

Josh is survived by his wife Julie and daughter Emma, his father Jack and Karen Englund of Tenino, WA, his mother Susan and William Hyre of Ocean Shores, WA, his sister Amanda and Gordon Schillinger of Battleground, WA, his sister Beth and Ryan Nygard of Rochester, WA, his grandparents Richard and Dorothy Hendricks of Gate, WA and his uncle Larry and Winona Englund of Juneau, AK. The love and company of a large extended family was one of Josh's greatest enjoyments.
Condolences may be sent to 18234 Tamara Ln SW, Rochester, WA 98579.

We extend our condolences to Jack, Susie, Beth, and all the family. We haven't seen Josh since he was a little boy, and we know that he will always be your boy even though he had grown into a fine man. It is so difficult to have a child precede parents in death, but some are called upon to bear that burden. May the Lord's blessings be with all of you that you may feel His love, comfort, and strength. We send our love,
Gary & Vickie Mattson and Family
