KEVIN NASH JEFFRIES
(Oct. 25, 1958 - April 11, 2010)

"I have been abundantly blessed, but until only recently, was too confused to recognize this fact. If I can keep honesty, gratitude, willingness, open-mindedness, forgiveness and humility all parts of my daily routine, then spiritual progress is possible." The contented words and life of Kevin Jeffries touched all who knew him. Devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Kevin passed unexpectedly on Sunday in Olympia at the age of 51. Kevin's ability to find special qualities in people that no one else could lives on in his beautiful family. His wife of 22 years, Susan Jeffries, daughter Brianne McMurray, her husband Shane, and their children Megan and Ethan, his daughters Jennifer Kersey and Katie Jeffries, sons Nick Kersey and Ian Jeffries, and Susan's "Boy friend In-laws," Jared Maple and Devin Fernandez, feel "loster than last year's Easter egg" without him. No one can replace his unequaled intelligence, wit, and giving nature.
Preceded in death by his parents Willard Wayne Jeffries and Bertha Maurine Shaver, Kevin will also be remembered by his sister Kelley Williams, brother Brian Drake Jeffries, and a slew of the most amazing nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. He had an extensive family. Bound by love or blood never changed your importance to him. His "brothas from another motha, and sistas from another mista," were all worthy of the shirt off his back. This included his dear friends at A. A. whom his family thanks for giving him back to himself and to them. He also cherished his work and camaraderie at Four Star Accessory Overhaul. In his spare time, Kevin was a voracious reader and connoisseur of music. He developed a strong love/hate relationship with golf and was very impressed with twitter and facebook. He spent hours connecting with old friends and making new ones along the way. Perhaps a fitting final status update would be, "Well Woodrow, it's been quite a party!" - Lanes.
A memorial service to celebrate Kevin's life will be held at 10:00 AM, Sunday, April 18, 2010 at South Sound Manor, 455 North St. SE, Tumwater, WA, (360) 753-1065. A reception will follow at 12:00 PM at Prosperity Grange Hall, 3701 Steamboat Island Rd. NW, Olympia, WA. An online guestbook is available at www.funeralalternatives.org.
